Re: Strange flashing on lines etc on drop ins PS5

@TommiHC

That looks like an HDMI cable issue.

Disconnect and reseat both ends of the cable securely and retry.

If the same happens, try with another cable or even another TV if you can.

Reboot the PS5 too.

Thanks.

    Just curious how can it be HDMI cable issue if I can record it on console? But I can try it with my monitor.

    I actually think this is in-game because the green line is going through the environment and not just appearing on the TV

    Thanks for the reply.  So my console is fine and it is just a bug? Pretty worried here.

    I wouldn't be able to confirm that. But based on the video, you can tell the green artifact is in-game as it's passing through players, the boards, etc and not just overlaying the entire screen.

    I think this green flash has happened to me as well (Xbox) and I am certain it only happened during the outdoor drop-in games.

    Do you notice this happening on other games?

    @KidShowtime1867 Only in drop ins so far. On warthunder I have some graphical bugs too that textures are flashing and disappearing.

    Try different HDMI cable and a different HDMI slot.
    Try a different display. Those are quickest and easiest to test.

    Try reinstalling.

    Do you have your PS5 vertical?
    Does your console have adequate ventilation?
    Is it clean? (dust/smoke)
    (The liquid metal can leak and run in vertical due to inadequate seals).

    @RicochetII Yeah it's vertical. Console is just few months old. It has alot of space surround it because its in the middle of the floor. I'll check the dust but doubt it.
  • No dust. Tried it with different cable and on my pcs monitor and it happened there also. So now I just have to know if its the game or the console.

    This is an issue with the game, it's been happening ever since they introduced outdoor rinks.

    @RSall14 Yep! I made a post about this a couple months back. EA said it was HDMI I tried to tell them it was the game. Luckily a lot of others suggested they've had issues with it. It's SUPER annoying. I can't even play this game anymore. I def won't buy another until serious resources are put into improving all the problems. This game has just gone too far down the tubes and they don't even acknowledge most of the bugs and problems. I only bought this year due to it being a new dev team and they promised to be more engaged with the community and to open a discord.. they lied. Again. It's EA. I've learned my lesson for the last time. It's also the reason I won't ever buy Madden again and likely won't get NCAA. Just a really bad company.

    @rsandersr47

    I have said many times we're aware of the flashing squares in drop-ins. We haven't been able to reproduce this as it's only happening to a small portion of the playerbase. Which is why it's entirely possible there is an HDMI or TV issue causing it. There also have been more important issues to focus on so this has had less of a priority.

  • If you record gaming on console I doubt that it is recording stuff on the screen. I bet it's recording same stuff with or without even HDMI connected. I remember having that flashing on my ps4 pro with earlier versions of NHL drop ins so I think it is not that rare. I doubt that my both consoles are some what insufficient.

    @TommiHC

    Does this also happen in games outside of WoC? Is it occurring in drop-in games as well?
