Hip checks still need to be aimed so at least there's a tiny bit of skill involved - they're in a much better state than regular truculence shoulder checks last year.
In any case, I think they're hilarious and need to stay as is
- Treatmentworke662 years agoSeasoned Ace@TTZ_Dipsy There is 0 skill involved when just pushing a button to proform a hip check or regular hit or when doing a deke ...just my opinion

I mean, there is very little skill involved with a lot of things the game has to offer

The Hip check is currently ruining the game in EASHL 6x6. It's too easy to use and abuse with total control....., and there are no penalties for using it, with high chance of causing injuries. Player attributes have no impact on the ability to successfully execute a "hip check" or not. Big guy.. small guy.. anybody can crush a opponent out of no where. Some games quickly become a complete circus with the "hip check festival". It's just ridiculous!
plz, You need to fix it. It ruin EASHL experience.
Edit: Moved post to the already existing thread on this issue. -CM
- couture2fat2fly2 years agoSeasoned Veteran@TTZ_Dipsy I don't get the trucculence comment, at least you could take penalties with trucculence, you had to lineup the guy and he could just pass before getting hit, momentum and physics played a big role... the hip checks are absolutely far worse than anything from last years in terms of op gimmick.
Physically impossible:

4 hip checks in 12s, it's all kids do now:

Physically impossible or tripping, I'm completely around:

2 hip checks, 2 penalties if not physically impossible:

Cross checks were as devestating as current hipcheck but you just needed to flick the stick like current shoves - it was instant and horribly abused with Truculence. Truculence also megated many penalties and was in a much worse state than you percieve hipchecks to be.
1st clip is a physics and animation issue with EA. I agree it is dumb but would have been just as back with a normal check. Technically this would be physically possible with the right momentum with the carrier off balance.
2. So what? They could have easily crosschecked you with a similar result and still aimed and timed their hits - By missing they'd be out of position.
3. Look how fast they recovered - like it didn't even happen. Yeah that was a clip but I think hipchecks can only lead to interference - no clipping is programmed into the game (which I think sjould be addressed).
4. First hit wasn't a penalty though yes, the momentum was weird.
It's very hard to get a hit from behind in this game - as far as the video game is concerned this was a clean hit. Could have just as easily smashed him with a crosscheck

@TTZ_DipsyTrucculence wouldn't tip the guy over from behind last year, if it did it would 100% have been a charging or boarding.
Besides, you're argument is that the player could've also done this or that.. im trying to address the obvious 1-button-does-it -all problem. Especially 1 button that looks as fake as a guy bending over running into people with his * out. Where do you actually see this in real life?
The play behind the net like it didn't happen?! It almost cost a goal, only I was able to cut the pass. Should have been a clean easy breakout 5v4 with their guy out of position behind our net.How people defend this crap is beyond me. Must be 3s eliminator players who finally have a chance playing 6s now that arcade mode is expanded to all modes.
- MasterB892 years agoSeasoned Ace@TTZ_Dipsy Then are you looking more for NHL Hitz cause with it and the new hit cam replays that this game had it is getting closer to that arcade style game. Don't get me wrong im all for those types of games. There is no real skill required for the hip check and see people spamming the button, plus the physics are off seeing that skill, height, weight and attributes dont affect it what so ever (36 overall player who is 5'8 can hip check the same as a an 99 overall 6'7 enforcer), plus most of these hits would be a suspendable offence in the NHL. Ultimately it defeats the purpose of playing actual defense and ultimately removes the realism of a simulated hockey experience.

Mate, I would freaking LOVE for Hitz to return.
I still say they require more skill than previous hitting (basically this year's shove) - they basically just swapped old hits for a 1 button hipcheck (remember - they have always been this devestating, it just had clunky controls so nobody used and noticed it). A proper shoulder check now is just as crushing
I just don't believe they need a blanket nerf - clearly something needs balancing around it.
Either forwards should have some sort of dodge feature or we can require people to have an xfactor or whatnot - but they already got a height/weight penalty

@TTZ_DipsyI would love a Hitz to return too. Love those games and still own them. From what I have seen it didn't matter what type of player they could hip check the game level as another. An option I would think of is making a button plus the skill stick so a normal hit (which the charge up) plus a button at the same time. I think that could work to make you work harder for it and require more skill to hit it. Either way, it does need some balancing offline and online.
