My Theory: Execs employee data scientists to do research and modeling.
- If we allow players to connect to local servers early in the week (Monday to Weds) they will win, experience some great game play and feel good. In order to mitigate rewards given out we just decrease rewards from this mode and only make it achievable to players who play all 25 weekly games before champs.
-If we route them to distant servers on Thursdays through to Sunday after some early week success, they will tolerate the losses, wonder what happened, and argue amongst themselves saying "get good".
In both instances from a psychology aspect, your chasing a dangling carrot. Those conditions are similar to those that make people addictive gamblers. They spend money with the perception that they have more control of the outcome then they do.
Guys, im going to make a reddit thread on this. If anyone has a geofiltering router like I do.. lets work together to get some data on how this routing stragety works.
Apologies for the late response. I was away for the weekend.
Your theories are absolutely incorrect. What is your ping with these games?
If his theory is wrong than explain what is happening and why he is being rerouted. if he is being re routed to a farther server then his ping would be higher and he would be at a big disadvantage to an opponent that is playing on their local server. Come on
If you don't know why it is happening just say you don't know and that you will look into it.
That would be the correct answer. From a non EA rep of course....all due respect.
