Community ManagerI use the boardplay very frequently. I just like it better than smashing players on the boards and potentially getting called for it. I haven't noticed opponents escaping boardplay attempts as you've mentioned. If you've got some vide of this, feel free to post it and I'll send it over to the team. I do agree on tying up players in front of the net. I'd like to see that become a little easier.
Unfortunately without a controller cam, I will be unlikely to get video proof of this. What I mean to say is that at lower speeds, you are unable to tie up players against the boards as they just skate away while you are holding down the Y button the whole time hoping for it to trigger. Its gotten better since previous titles but I still think players are able to escape the boards when someone is holding down the board play button just a little too easily. I'll try and clip a spot where I was holding it down while he does this, but I don't use it that often. I know from experience, its not always successful and has great risk of the player getting by me as the defenseman and having an open lane to the net.
