You can't focus on the overall ratings of a team or player. You have to breakdown the individual players and their stats. 88 Hasek sounds good in theory but his aggression is too high and his stats protecting the top half of the net are far too low. He's also only 82 on the breakaway.
It stinks to lose to <80OVR teams but you have to look how the team was built and what strategies they run. Playing Squads on Superstar also means your opponent won't be making too many mistakes and will make you pay for each one of yours.

So why am I able to easily beat the Team and Squad of the week each time with him in net. He makes incredible saves when I play against higher rated teams.
No offense but I'm usually ranked top 100 at Squad Battle when I have the time to play all the games so I know when something funny happens during a game. There's nothing wrong with my strategy. Those lower team losses are just not fun at all. EA wants it to be closed games but playing them doesn't make sense. One period you have 15 shots with no goals and the next the CPU scores 2 goals on 4 shots and you end up loosing in shootout because the 78 goalie stops everything.
What do you think would happened if a team of NHL legends would play a team made of junior and American league players?

@6hpy2hzsfzas I'd have to watch your game play to see why you're losing to lower rated teams but I suspect you play loser against them than the higher rated teams. Probably taking more chances too and getting caught out of position.
Your complaint is on the 10,000' level and you just can't disseminate from that large a breadth. As I posted above, you have to look closer at what you're playing against.
Generally speaking, the higher rated teams I've come across have been built with smaller more skilled players easy to knock around. The low 80OVR teams and below are built with more TWF and PWF and can match the size of TBs and tougher to knock around. The build on the lower rated cards are also wildly out of balance. They can still have high rated stats in key attributes and be nerfed in others.
The ToW squad is not balanced and you're only playing against 1 maybe 2 lines at each end of the ice. Once the top 6 FWDs & D-pair leave the ice, the other lines are fairly easy to beat if you don't make mistakes. I think the current ToW is a 92. Sounds like a powerhouse but look at the stats and you see you're playing against items with mid to low 80s in the key attributes. It's also rare that it has the more valuable Synergies activated where many players build teams with low rated cards to do just that.

Just look at my record from a month ago. I think that proves I know how to play this game. What's your record?
