Suggestion for a change to skill stick controls

Suggestion for a change to skill stick controls:

Offense

Protect puck - A/X

Reverse hit - B/Circle

Defense

Stick lift - A/X

Shoulder check - B/Circle

Hip check - X/Square

Off. Line Change - Right dpad

Def. Line Change - Left dpad

I like most of what they did with the new total control scheme except for 2 things: protect puck being on L3 and reverse hit being on R3. Having these 2 actions on the sticks results in a lot of accidental presses because of how much you move the sticks with the puck in this game. Protect puck on L3 can mess with your deking when you're trying to hustle in on a breakaway. Reverse hit on R3 can make you accidentally go for a hit when trying to deke or shoot. For this reason I went back to skill stick but I missed being able to shoulder check and hip check with the buttons on total control. These changes would give skill stick a nice mix between the old and new controls.

  • @TRICL0PS100% agree. At the bare minimum they should let us choose between the previous or new system for protect puck and reverse hit. Not only they are not essential ability in the game but they are in the way of other abilities. Most poeples use the skill stick before any use of the protect puck so I don't get why they felt the need to move it with the reverse hit to add a one touch deke instead. They were perfectly fine there before.

It's baffling that they never took into consideration human errors with a controller in your hands. In reality that kind of thing would never happen but in a video game with a controller and the huge use of skill stick, small push on the stick will innevitably happen every once in a while...

BTW, protect puck was moved to L3 on skill stick too I beleive, so either way you are forced on L3. Just reverse hit remained the same on skill stick I think.
