THINGS THAT SHOULD BE IN NHL 25 (opinions)
The first NHL game that I ever played was NHL 14 and that was the epidemy of NHL gaming, especially the Winter classic mode which was awesome, and the towels going like crazy in the playoff modes. Since then, all of the games have been declining. Less and less game modes, more bugs that need to be fixed, and just unnecessary things in the current game, this includes glass breaking too frequently(the glass broke from a backhand), goalies in desperation mode sitting on the ice for too long, frequent AI penalties, inaccurate goal horns, very cartoony hits, the list just goes on and on. The only thing that I do like in this game is the pressure system, it feels like you have control of the offensive zone, just like actual hockey. This is the 30th NHL game EA has released, and 14 is the only one that I truly love. Now, EA still has a lot of work to do to make a truly good NHL game again, so these are just some suggestions of mine to make the games more fun.
- Get rid of the glow sticks! We want towels during the playoffs, not glow sticks.
- Have accurate goal horns. This NHL had a lot of inaccurate goal horns for most teams. Like the Oilers was horrible, my Canucks goal horn was way off, and most of the teams were like this.
- Intermission reports and intermission interviews with players. This is just an opinion of mine, it may be a little unnecessary, I mean NHL 97 had it, why cant NHL 25? Also, NHL 15 had real broadcasters for the intro.
- Goalies. Goalies should not be sitting on the ice for 20 seconds when the opposing team has full pressure and can score from center ice if they wanted too. Just make them get up faster.
- Broken glass. Glass does not break this frequently. In my entire time playing NHL 14, the glass probably broke only 3 times. In NHL 24, its more like 30 times.
- Better intros. The intros now suck, the anthems are alright, what we want to see the players skating onto the ice and maybe even have a little warmup which would be cool.
- Coaches challenge. This has probably been the most anticipated addition that NHL fans have been waiting for. We want to challenge for high sticks, offsides, goalie interference, not the ref doing it right away. It would make us feel like we are in charge of the game.
- More game modes. What we have right now is sad, we have 3 offline modes, and 3 or 4 more online modes. NHL 14 had 15 game modes of online and offline, simply put we need more game modes.
- Fan interaction. It would just be cool.
- Score boards. The score board that we have now is boring. We should be able to have options, a scoreboard at the top, or bottom, corner. Like the current Sportsnet scoreboard would be a cool inspiration for a video game score board, and having a shot clock in that scoreboard would be cool
Please don't hate these ideas, they are just my opinions for things that they should add for the upcoming game.
Love these suggestions. I just turned off the broken glass under the game slider screen, as it slowed the game down way too much. After game coach interviews and pregame interviews of players would be cool, they do it in BAP mode, a good interview could add to bonuses.
