I can't agree the game is unplayable for the older generation. Which, I am a part of. I too have been playing since the 90s and spent many years with the NHL 94 controls, but made the change to skill stick when it was first introduced. I know it's a big change. When you get it down though, you have a lot more in your arsenal as your gameplay options really open up. I understand they aren't for everyone, but these controls have been in the game since NHL 07. There really has been a very long time to get familiar with them. Just to be clear, I'm not talking about those that have mobility issues with their hands. That is obviously a different issue and I absolutely feel bad if your only option was to use the NHL 94 controls.
You keep the same bugs year after year, but justify removing controller schemes that would cause zero problems if you kept them. I will never again pay for this game. Not having NHL94 controls at all and not including hybrid controls at launch is a joke. Meanwhile the same celebrations, the same glitches, the same bugs, the same animations every year and no improvement. Shame on you and everyone at EA.
