A lot of people seem to forget hipchecks used to soley be tied to R3 and it was never an issue.
L1+R3 was exactly why old hipchecks were so awkward and caused so many penalties - it was such a stupid design choice and now that's how you do a simple fakeshot? So dumb.
I don't disagree its not a proper way of doing things but it is still a video game at the end of the day and needs to be intuitive for a sport as fast paced as this. Having to step 1 step 2, ok now step 3 to initiate a move just bogs the game right down.
It's just really weird to me seeing so many people freak out about losing hybrid and 94 controls, yet they are adamant Total Control doesn't belong
@TTZ_Dipsy
It was maybe a little awkward but still making more sense than one button. Which one is more used in real hockey, body checks or hip checks? they made body checks a bit harder this year but then made hip checks easier than body check, how does that make sense? It should be the other way around, it's just logical.
Because 94 and hybrid were already in the game for so long and there's no real issues in keeping them because you're actually playing at a disadvantage when you use them and it's also needed for poeples with an handicap unlike total control that give you an advantage and is completly new so you're not locking poeples out of the game by removing this one unlike the other two old controls.
I beleive the reason nobody was using the hip check before is not necessaraly because it was too hard to execute but because of how much easier and spectacular it was to go for a big hit, making the hip check pretty much irrelevant. Now this changed and I bet that more poeples would go for the hip checks than before (still less than big hits but in a ratio that look a lot more like real hockey).
Hold R3 then press L1 aint that hard, just a bit of practice to get the hang of it.
