Just how they are programmed to work. Maybe in the future they try and make deflections feel more organic in terms of ability/angle and missing the net some. I know people have asked for the ability to deflect shots but honestly it would be very hard to pull off and either turn out way too good or fall flat I feel. There is a bunch of work that needs completely re-built and shooting is definitely one of those things. They need to rebuild goalies and shooting at the same time imo.

- I wouldn't say they're always on goal, I use big tipper and have a on of deflections either hit the post or go wide of the net, I think it depends on the positioning of your player mostly.
