Why can't I do anyting?

Ok so I got NHL 24 for Xbox One yesterday.  I am playing Be a Player and I am completely unable to do anything because all passes bounce off of my player and I cannot pick up the puck . I could be ...

    Take a look at what @Javiair said about your sliders. Try that out and let me know if it helps or not.
