Why I don't like NHL 24

The game isn’t good and yes other players do make mistakes that can lead to goals, etc. However when you look at the overall make up of this game it’s trash. It becomes more noticeable when you stop playing it for a while and then come back to it. Personally I’ve been playing MLB the Show. Now, this game of course just like any other has its issues as well. When I came back for a game of hockey the other day my initial reaction was wow!, this game is very bad. The Show has never made me say that. Like I said it has its issues but not to the extent that this game has. Same can be said for NBA 2K and Madden, the other sports games on the market

To be fair this one sells less copies than every one of those series. Baseball is an easy sport to replicate, and Madden has been not fun for years. The RNG is annoying in EA games.
The main issue I have is defense is non existent. You can stand up a guy, try to rip the puck. Guy will tank it walk through and get an easy break. It's like, I just want a consistent product that rewards smart hockey vs letting people force nonsense all day.
One great change that could be made is poke check having another option where you steal the puck vs just poking it out. Have stick battles between guys about who can play it better instead of just poke checking it and it immediately going to another player on offense.
