Why is goalie still trash to play?

Question

Like the title says. Why is it so difficult and just not fun to play goalie still? The RNG of letting in goals is crazy. Doesn’t matter if you’re in position or not, even if their ice trainer * says you have the net covered it’s a 50/50 chance if you’re stopping the puck… VH? Is it still 1985? Can we just take that out and get up to speed with modern hockey?

Controls are an absolute nightmare; I'm not sure they can really improve things without adding VR.

I mnow most players want a more realiatic approach to gameplay but I honestly quite enjoyed ,and still prefer, the old days of fewer/simple animations and button combos
