Hello, everyone. Unfortunately, Rivals and Squad Battles have ended for NHL 23. Because of this, they will not be enabled again.
I guess that is how you force everybody to buy the new game each year.
There must have been too many people still playing NHL24, so let's make them spend more money.
If you listen hard enough, you can hear me deleting all of my NHL content from the PS5 and
also hear me loading a different game to play.

Community ManagerWe're not trying to force everyone to play 25. There are still many playable modes in 24 and we are happy people still playing it. It's normal for live services of previous games to be shut down after the next game releases so the team can better support the current game. Regardless, I understand your primary mode is not available and I'm truly sorry for that.

Don't you think they are getting ripped off?
If you don't want to give out rewards every week for rivals, I can understand that.
But why not just leave the competitive aspect of the game on there, for
players that just want to play the game against another human?
Community ManagerI know it's very frustrating to not have Rivals available. You could try Online Versus. That mode is still available for head to head play.
But NHL 24 is the last version of NHL for Xbox One or PS4.
You turn it off and we have to buy a new console in addition to the game?
