Why is HUT Rivals not available today?

Have been trying to play a Rivals game today on NHL23, which is included among the day's objectives, but am unable to do so.

Hello, everyone. Unfortunately, Rivals and Squad Battles have ended for NHL 23. Because of this, they will not be enabled again.

I know it's very frustrating to not have Rivals available. You could try Online Versus. That mode is still available for head to head play.

But NHL 24 is the last version of NHL for Xbox One or PS4.

You turn it off and we have to buy a new console in addition to the game?
