It will be interesting to see the details on this. I'm not a huge fan of the current playoff system but the big issue the last 2-3 years of the previous 'win four' system was that it was basically impossible to find games. Hopefully there will be some happy medium found.

As long as the microtransactions in WOC are not pay-to-win, and everything in the Store is obtainable with in-game currency (vs. locking items behind real cash), I am mostly OK with these changes. I've thought the last 2 years it's wild EASHL/WOC hadn't been monetized yet, so not surprised at what we're going to see this year.
EA is well aware that there are limits to how much nickel and diming players and community are willing to tolerate. In general, if you have a $70 game + paid Premium Battle Pass + cash only "premium" cosmetic items = serious community/Internet backlash.
I hope EA comes out quickly and clarifies that like other recent EA releases (i.e., PGA Tour), all cosmetic items in WOC Storefront will be obtainable via in-game currency.
The only "cash" items should be the initial Battle Pass and premium awards associated with the Battle Pass. Ideally, the Battle Pass should also grant enough in-game currency to purchase the next season's Premium Battle Pass.
End of the day, everyone should be able to get the full WOC experience via $70 entry point + initial $10 Battle Pass + otherwise simply playing the game. @EA_Aljo

Oh sweet they used my structure idea - hopefully players will find the championship and playoffs themselves more rewarding with the added "weight"
