WOC Bugs and Glitches

I would first like to thank the development team for paying attention to the community’s input and applying it to your ongoing maintenance on NHL 24. It’s nice to put our input on the forums or on social media and to be heard. We don’t complain about the games we play just to complain, but in hopes to be heard because we hope for great things when spending our hard earned money on video games especially with how the economy is.

Just noting some issues our club has come across while playing WOC that weren’t touched in for November 9th’s patch notes. I don’t know if these are on your board or not, but I hope that these will be patched ASAP as they can be game breaking or cause a huge disadvantage for the other team.

  • Full Pressure Bug: When full pressure is applied to a team and either the timer has run out or the team manages to clear the full pressure. The team that received the full pressure de-buff cannot call timeout as this causes the team not to regain energy and will cause one team to be fully fatigued for the entire period or until someone fights which is what I did in hopes to get my team some energy.
  • Final Minute Clock Speed: Since the game has hit our consoles even for alpha or beta testing the final minute of any given period has been running faster than it has in any other NHL game. The clock runs the first 30 seconds at normal game speed and then runs the second half of the 30 seconds at a real time pace. This leaves any team that is behind even less time to regroup and mount any type of comeback that may be needed to win the game. I am unsure if this is intentional, but it is not a good idea to implement in such a competitive game.
  • Pull Goalie Glitch: Our team has been cheated by opponents using this glitch. When a player(s) receive a major penalty any team can spam the pull goalie button combination in order to get their teammates out of the penalty box before a whistle is blown to properly allow them out based on NHL rules. This causes an imbalance and basically an illegal power play for the team that performs this glitch.
  • Full pressure too long: Full pressure is very strong and I feel is in a decent spot right now. There are some adjustments that need to be made. Full pressure should not still be active when the pressured team has puck possession and is in the offensive zone. This a lot of time’s causes the pressured team to lose the puck easier and ruins the rush. This in turn leads to a team needing to rush back with no energy and can either become another full pressure opportunity or a goal against.
  • Goalie Stamina: I recently delved into playing goalie since the option to turn off tethering has been introduced and have noticed a major flaw in the goalie’s stamina. When the puck is in the opposite team’s zone, the goalie does not recover energy. I noticed my goalie only recovered energy when the puck was in the neutral zone. That is a big issue as a lot of the game is not played in the neutral zone. This causes goalie’s to play with less than optimal energy after the puck was in the opponent’s zone for a solid 3 minutes and your team only took 10 seconds to get into the offensive zone. Goalie’s also lose way too much stamina from just using side to side movement even when it is just slow movement. Goalie’s should lose stamina based on the power and frequency of shots as well as the pace of paces and the amount of movement being used to keep up. I feel goalie’s need to be given more credit as goalies are being portrayed as nonathletic.
