BAP Goalie D-Pad disabled. Xbox

Question

Just an honest question. Why are D-Pad controls for the Goalie in BAP disabled? If I go to settings>>Controller settings>>Goalie overview. I’ll see the “default controls” it shows clearly that the D-Pad controls Forecheck, Breakout, Off. Line Change and Def. Line Change. However this has not worked in years and I was wondering why?

Is this intentional or is it a bug in the system? If anyone should be able to change a strategy or call for a line change, it should be the goalie who can see the entire ice at all times. Why is this function taken away for the goalie?

Why cant I accept fights? When a player is checked too hard and goes to the ground, I’ll see the fight challenge box with the Y+Y to accept a fight, but it never works. Why is it even an option if I cant select it?

And of course, this has been discussed for YEARS.. why way cant my controls be saved?????? Why why why why must I continue to change my controls before every single game despite being saved the game or file before?????? WHY EA?? Why is there no Control settings in the settings in BAP? Why must I begin a game first? You and I have discussed this in the NHL24 forums and I included videos.

Anyways.. Just gets frustrating

Hey there. You can't edit strategies in Be A Pro because you're a player and not the coach. This is intentional.

I understand your frustration with controls not saving. That's been brought up in the past as well. I will again relay that feedback to the team. Thank you.

Awesome, thank you, that makes sense. I was just confused as why it would be showing in BAP mode when it was disabled, but I understand that it would be more time consuming to change the layout for every mode. IE BAP v Franchise and so on. Maybe have a disclaimer.. Functions disables in BAP mode. Suggestion.. That would be easier and less $$ to do that.

And now that I have you on the phone. I have asked this question before, but never got a clear response, what does the AI learning slider actually adjust?

I think the theory is that it makes the players around you learn how you play. BUT it doesn’t explain everything. Does it..

A. Affect teammates only (helpful)? B. Does it affect everyone on the Ice including the other team (hurtful)? C. Does it even matter if you are just the goalie?

Moving the slider from 0/6 to 6/6 hurt or help?

This helps the AI adapt to how you play. It helps determine their response to actions. How often they hustle, go into a glide, etc. It's only present in offline modes.
