Buy next Game or Not?

I'm at 330 hours in the game. For me, as a father, that's a hell of a lot! If I spend an hour playing the game, I get maybe two or three packs of cards worth 80, 81, 82, or 86 that I don't want to play with! How many hours did the EA allocate to the game to get the best cards? It's not necessary for an amateur like me to be able to access all the cards, but a little more should be possible!? Furthermore, I absolutely believe that the XP path should also be supplemented by other game modes! If you play other modes for a few hours and don't make any progress on the XP path, it feels like wasted time, and you lose interest.
