This is actually happening for a relatively small number of players so chances are good that if you haven't experienced it, you'll be fine getting your entire team in a game. The configuration error/failed to retrieve data issue planned to be addressed in the January update. Having a player not advance with the rest of their team still needs to be investigated. I'll need more examples and video before we can do that.
Well I suppose if the OP wanted to buy NHL25 and then see if he is one of the small percentage of people who will not be able to play. But if he does, I can be sure no refund or gift will be issued of he finds himself unlucky.. And for that I would still have to recommend he doesn't get the game. Personally I would take my money back because I can't play, and no compensation has been offered. Just giving him an honest review and opinion!
If you enjoy playing against bots or offline perhaps give it a try! But if you want to play online, as I have previously said.. Don't
