Fix the goalies in eashl

Why is it so hard to make both the goalies in eashl play at the same skill level like our goalie will let in the weakest shots ever while the other teams makes insane saves like fix your game pls

I get that there will never be a true 1:1 replica of how real-life goalies play, but at the same time there is seemingly nothing being done about the goalies to improve them, and they progressively get worse. They were even purposely nerfed a year ago in NHL 24 for whatever reason, and have been a complete disaster since. Out of the 1,312 games total in a NHL regular season, only a handful of these types of goals happen. While I don’t know the exact ratio for how often they happen in world of chel comparatively, I can confidently say that it is every time I log on something along these lines happens, which is not acceptable.

100% in agreement most games are over with in the first period. Just putting my hope in the new year that this game will be fixed for defense and goalies.

If you're posting on this forum, chances are good you're playing a far higher amount of games than a real NHL team does so it's understandable that more soft goals will occur. That and this is a video game where we don't have an exact 1:1 replica of real world physics. Goalies, most likely, will always have room for improvement. They are easily the most difficult position to prefect in a video game.

Completely disagree. Yes, those types of goals happen maybe a handful of times per season in real life between every team, but they are rampant in NHL 25 and happen in EASHL every time I play. This isn’t my video, but here are a few of the many examples. There’s also a thread a few below this one with some examples and no replies. I don’t know what the issues are specifically, if the goalies try to be too flashy when they don’t need to be, poke check too frequently putting them way out of position while that animation finishes, or what, but something needs adjusted so that they better reliably make the routine saves they should be making 99% of the time, instead of it being hit or miss.

I've also had many games where the team outshooting their opponent wins with good goals. Muffins, bad angle goals, etc, are going to happen just like goals resulting from setting up good scoring chances. That's hockey for you though. There are many real world games in a real NHL season where a team wins with less shots.

I've had a bunch of games where my team outshoots the opponent by 10-15 shots and still lost because of soft or bad angle goals.  There have been so many comments pointing out the same thing, too.

You're welcome to post videos highlighting a game where this is happening. As I said, both goalies are the same. However, they may not be facing the same amount or types of shots. I'm sure there are games where the opposite happens and your goalie has an outstanding game.

  • Yeah, there is no way that's true lmao.  There are plenty of times where our club plays against a prime Patrick Roy when their teams give up a ton of chances, meanwhile our goalie lets in the softest goals imaginable from the dumbest angles imaginable as well.

Both goalies are at the same skill level. I'm sure there have been many games where your goalie is outperforming the other. Regardless, it's more about how your defense plays. If you're giving up a lot more scoring chances than your opponent, odds are good they are going to capitalize on those.

  • AI is just terrible in general, but yeah I've noticed the difference with the goalies, most of the time my team will be matched up against an AI goalie that plays like prime Patrick Roy and we'll get saddled with a goalie who seems like they never should have made it to even the AHL.
