This should be irrelevant. I don't care what 'creators' want. Their primary goal is to increase subs and views, so they want the game to get popular rather than getting better. It seems apparent these two would go hand in hand, but they don't. I think EA is stuck in this loop as well.
Short term, they may capture a few Fortnite players and some newcomers attracted to the individualism trend, but those interests (and wallets) wane after a release or two.
Long term, if EA took serious the cries from the hardcore community, you'd have an unwavering base of loyal customers who couldn't wait to see what EA did in the realism-to-virtualized department. That was the driving force behind the hype before releases we saw from '93-'14.
Now that we see EA is chasing trends in the hopes to get streamers and influencers to showcase their game, we're seeing almost nothing in terms of hype for a new release. In fact, this year, it felt as though EA was purposely holding back any substantial information until 2 weeks before release. That's so odd when contrasted with a pre-release cycle only 4 years ago.
