Your opponent took advantage of the chances you gave them. It looks like they played a better defensive game. You had 3x the ToA, but with nearly the same amount of shots. They're not letting you get as many good scoring chances despite all the added ToA. If you truly feel the lower overall team gets rewarded more, you're more than welcome to create a lineup with weaker players to see if that helps. However, there's nothing built into the game that makes it favor lower overall teams. Skill is the deciding factor.
