Inability to Edit Player Attributes

Now that the game is out, it is officially confirmed that we once again do not have the ability to edit generated players attributes, potential, bio, etc.  This is extremely disappointing and I will once again not be buying the game because of it (along with the grey silhouettes).  I understand that not everything can be updated from year to year but this is something that every other sports game does and something that EA's College Football 25 was able to implement via patch.

The NHL series' franchise mode is the most restrictive out of any other major sports game and at this point, it seems like it is not oversight or inability, but rather a deliberate game design decision.  If possible, is there any way to confirm that the developers have any plans on adding this feature to the game?   

Any sort of comment from EA on this would really help those of us who are expecting this feature to temper our expectations moving forward.

    100% expected this to happen, been one of the biggest most vocal requests for years since they removed it, and they just decided to keep us locked out from it because… why give us something that would make us enjoy the game more?

      My concern is that on every single post regarding editing players and the lack of actual pictures for generated players, there is never a response from any EA representative.  It always seems to just be ignored. 

      It all leads me to believe that they did it on purpose for some misguided design reason and they do not plan on implementing it and are just digging their feet in the ground and ignoring the criticism.  That's just speculation but the radio silence doesn't help alleviate any concerns.

        Hopefully we get an answer that actually makes sense for this as the reasons previously given have made none. If they think people are making changes to "cheat" the chemistry system, then they need to do a much better job with coaches, player types and generated prospects before they locking things.

        If I had to wager a guess… I wonder if they are setting up everything for connected franchise in the next year or two and it’s just easier to have everything locked now so they don’t have to go back and do it when it eventually comes out. There is really no good reason why an offline mode would lock these out, especially when it wasn't like this previously.

    The thing I would like most is the ability to edit players height and weight. So many players are wrong. For instance, Matvei Michkov coming to Flyers camp at 190 lbs but is 172 lbs in the game. Same could be said for Jett Luchanko. The only way to get them right is to re-create the players. And to re-create them all takes a lot of time when we could just fix them directly with that option being unlocked. Seems like not that big of a deal but since size has an impact on gameplay, it would be nice to have that option.

      It's exactly stuff like this that we need the ability to edit players.  Even if they don't open up the ability to edit real players, there is zero reason why we should have to suffer through a guy named James McMuffin from Hungary, or the fact that defensemen don't develop, or dealing with the same draft classes over and over again, or seeing ridiculous generated player appearances, etc.  

      There are countless reasons why the player should have the ability to edit players (and MUCH more).  We're not asking for the world here, the options are right there, the devs actively removed them. Just really takes all the enjoyment out of the game for me.

        It’s crazy how it’s been years since they took away a beloved feature from us, and each year the question “why was it removed” is asked hundreds of times but the franchise mode threads are always ignored, and the question falls on deaf ears each time. It will literally be asked, and the next comment will be from EA replying to something else, so they are literally actively ignoring the questions for 4ish years now
