Make threes great again!
Hats off for EA making this mode and this new arena mode at all. That being said I feel each year after the first couple they've started taking steps back..
Club uniforms it's strange that we get to play in our arena but then given generic eashl clothes to wear. I'd like to see us bring back the club uniforms.. as a side note, if player size differential between having pads vs not is the reason for this change then let us wear our club uniform w/o pads or let us wear our own eashl street clothes. I've not heard for the reason for the removal..
Club ice We should be able to choose the ice. Currently even when playing in our own barn it can be white, blue, yellow, etc. First, that blue makes seeing blue pucks a bit difficult and that yellow is wildly bright (for me) why not be able to choose a color or design. Furthermore it would be cool to slightly adjust speed of players through an ice surface option.
Play to 5 We were in a finals game in which we scored a 3 and a 2 and ended the game in (I didn't actually count) about 10 seconds. Just seems money pucks need to be removed/ lowered or score increased. Playing to 5 w/o money would be preferable imo.
Goalies I did some reasearch a while back that showed this mode having similar or better goal tending than what were seeing in 3s. With the state of the mode i think it would be a good mode for people to try goalie. I think humans should be able to throw on the pads. Its a stress free high action mode that would allow potential goalies to get a lot of looks in a small amount of time.
rule changes this is the fun one! What if teams could choose their own rules when you play in their barn? Let's say they could turn on or off money pucks from their club info (or pre choose the order that they generate) what if teams could create "money zones" so that if you score right in front of the net (it will be highlighted while playing) you get 2 or minus 1 or maybe the zone is from the point (like a 3 point shot in basketball). What if you added other rules like no player can score more than 2 or each player must score 1. Maybe have some rule where the ice lights up as you score from diff areas and you have to score from each one. It would be cool to see how diff teams adjust or what strategies people come up with.
Mascots/ 3v3 in addition to location and stuff I'd prefer to have the option to only play vs the same number of humans we have. Mascots can be some of the worst or best players on the ice. They're braindead at times but they seem to have the balance and hitting of an enforcer, the speed and passing of a playmaker, perfect line to recieve a puck, and the defensive awareness (puck interception) of a DD with a REALLY large stick. Ai gets exposed for being rather braindead in 3s but in threes the ice is so small that they can't get TOO out of position and they're so big and fast that they are even better at making up for it. Couple this with the fact that hitting them or taking the puck just feels so different than a human just makes everything so difficult. Some teams will have them crash the net and they just get goals (again with the long stick) in ways they shouldn't. Crash the net and they wrap it around the goalie, crash the net and run into the goalie but the stick (and puck are in the net) they are just by far and away the biggest wildcard on the ice, if used correctly they can be the best player on the ice and if not they are below average. Personally, I just don't like playing against them. Their ability to come up with the puck in a 1v1 battle or a race is bad enough to deal with haha. They should be toned down or teams should have the option to match room size. Unlike 6's 3's and threes have a much easier and quicker time finding games. I don't mind waiting an extra 3 seconds to find another team of 3..
Stats this is a small issue but one I never understood.. why do you have to click on the mode to find the stats but all other stats are found in stats? Also, fwiw I feel stats should only be carried through presentation when playing that mode. When I play 6's and it shows I have over 1k goals but 800 of those are between threes and 3's it looks a bit wild 😄
