It's alright, but I honestly just don't really care. I'd much rather we had back a realistic hockey telecast presentation.
Maybe start outside the arena with some aerial footage, follow some fans as they're getting their tickets accepted, maybe cut away to the tunnels as the players are waiting to take the ice with their captain hyping them up. Then, the teams could hit the ice, skate a bit, the broadcast could highlight a few players and talk about their season and stats, etc.
But, sure, I guess the game looking like Fortnite is also a direction to go. Mmhmm.
To play devil's advocate here, the presentation style shown in the video above draws parallels from your typical national sports broadcaster's approach to marketing a big game on their networks.
They often film players at practice facilities in front of green screens to then use those videos in presentation packages like this. Anyone who's been to an NHL game will notice it's a similar approach to pre-game intros shown on the video screens before a game.
Although it's not your typical broadcast style that you'd see on regional coverage that most of us are familiar with, I can appreciate the 'big game' approach to this type of presentation.
I hope this intro is reserved for games where you're playing against an opponent you've played before, and someone you haven't has a different introduction.
It's a refreshing broadcast package and I can only hope this expands to all broadcast elements. My pet peeve of the series has always been unrealistic camera angles during replays which take you right out of the 'broadcast' immersion. I mean, some angles look as if there's a cameraman on the ice, which is somewhat jarring after you notice it.

Is this the only video drop we get this week? I thought they were doing weekly "deep dives"? Just asking, was hoping to see a presentation video, but there is just a short post about Grudge Matches, which don't get me wrong, does seem kind of cool to get throughout the year as you play teams. As someone who uses Vasy's rosters and then adjusts to make sure the prospects are on the correct teams, I put a lot of time into the game, so it would be nice to see as much effort going into building game hype prior to release, as I put into making sure the game is fun, and Vasy puts into making rosters that include those EA doesn't add into the game. ON that note, Vasy if you ever need help with your rosters, message me on here, and I can put some time into helping you.

Vision?? Perhaps ya'll need glasses then. Can we get some normal presentation back? Tunnel walk out, typical broadcast package, full presentation, etc. You know, stuff that used to be in these games. Strange concept, I know... If you guys really don't add this stuff after the last two games and the outcry they caused, then you are all truly lost.

Best comment I have seen! I 1000% agree with you and this game was a perfect opportunity to have it come back but I guess they didn’t answer our prayers but who knows we haven’t gotten any trailer and an in depth detailed blog which is another issue

Commentary such as the Hughes brothers crunching bodies lol. It's just generic fluff that is applied to everything sadly. :(

ea finally gave a presentation of what the players want. there is no other way. ea's problem is that there are not enough people to create a good enough presentation. it is not easy to visually convert a presentation that was produced and tuned by thousands of people in the studios into a game form. espn employs thousands of people all over the world just to create interesting visualizations to draw the viewer into the game. and there are simply no people for that. hiding behind your own visions and concepts is of course nonsense. no one will make a new car or EA sports.

Then what is this?:
EA can absolutely put together an authentic, broadcast style hockey presentation. They just choose not to.

Yes, absokutely :) my post was big ironic :) I remember
i remember the interview with david littman at gamescom nhl 07. that game amazed everyone at the first impression, but of course everyone asked where is the opening presentation??? :) I think nhl 14 was already created without david .... nhl 14 is the most impoverished nhl from ea... what a paradox that it is the last ea hockey with a normal introduction. it's a business. I remember the interview with the director of Westwood. his words ring clear. for ea sports it's all just business, no joke. just business...
