I'm torn on the game speed being slower this year. On one hand, it makes it easier to focus on setting up nice passing plays and it seems more realistic because I think last year's speed was a bit arcadey. On the other hand, this COMBINED with the nerfed sound effects this year make for a less 'impactful' game.
That said: I'm SUPER happy to see speed-burst hitting GONE.
I get what you mean, but for me personally, I like to be challenged by fast gameplay. Very quick decision making. I think you can divide the player community in 2 sections. The one, who like it more slow, but more "technical" gameplay and the others (like me) who rather like to play very quick. I like to keep it more simple, than using all the special moves, etc. I havent figured out the right timing of hitting yet. It seems, that when I try to hit a player, my player makes a move around him, even though I am not doing that. Thats super frustrating. I need to adapt for the new NHL version, but I am not really happy with it right now. But thanks for your feedback!
