Yeah, it's one of the many, many reasons I haven't played drop-ins in years.
Although, to play devil's advocate, people would have a lot less reason to pause the game to look at a replay if they had access to a replay of the full game post-match. The built-in console recordings aren't always enough, especially if you're like me and play with the overhead camera. Or if the event in question happens off-screen to a teammate behind the play.
The current system of small ( too small IMO ) clips tied to some action tracker entries plus a period at best of replay to look at just isn't enough at times. Things that I'd like to look at after the game are just lost if they don't happen at the right time.
It's not like it's a limitation of the hardware. My kid plays Fortnite and can go back and watch his last five matches in their entirety in-game. I know the budgets and team size are apples and oranges, but it's not like it's impossible.
