AI Behavior since latest update

Hi there. There were no AI changes in the last update. The 1.3.0 update had improvements to AI forechecking, but that's it.

We're not aware of any issues with passes going where you're not aiming, but will keep an eye out for this.

Aljo, I brought up passing months ago.  I told you there's errors built in to it now.  You told me you were aware and it was being looked in to.  Now you say this.  This year, in particular, there is significant errors in passing.  It has been since launch, also appeared in NHL 24 but in 25 it's obnoxious.  The amount of time spent going back to your zone retrieving the puck is beyond acceptable.  I was hopeful you were looking in to this, but now it seems that's not the case.  Please advise.  Personally i think it's because of icon passing.  It's created issues since it's inception.  EA has been making NHL for 30+ years and we need to talk about passing?  This is not player fatigue related either, that's a whole other issue

Heck, even icon passing.  you push the button and it goes no where near where you wanted.  Not every time but often enough

That's different. We're aware of passes not hitting their target when dropping it back to the D. That's not the same as using icon passing to a teammate that is missed. You're always welcome to provide video of that.

okay, it also happens going the other way too, up the ice, if you will.  And yeah, it's more than just fatigue passing or lower overall attribute, there's something else.  I'll get video of icon passing going awry, shouldn't take too long once i start playing :D

This also seems to be a new movement. Not sure you want this posted here or not. I’ve noticed it quite often, lately.  Doesn’t happen all the time but it does happen often. It’s a weird, new, movement. Happens in rivals and champs too.

I know you’re going to say he’s trying to sneak in to get the puck but it’s not effective. I think it’s new. There’s a lot of weird AI movements now that weren’t there before. 

I'm not seeing anything weird about either LW in that video.

Yea its not just back passing to the D, which that in itself is annoying and i try my best to avoid backpassing because almost always it never works. But forward passing as well has the same issue. As I said I've had it happen on one time opportunities where the puck is sent to the boards behind the net instead of across the crease, I've also had the puck go too far behind the other skater by 10+ feet as well. Had multiple times on a breakaway where im low in my zone as D and one of my forwards are racing up the neutral zone and I do an icon pass and I either do a bank pass when there is a clear lane or the pass is sent going to the complete opposite side. I also experienced these passing issues in NHL 24 but it was not anywhere near as bad as it is here. What you said about the amount of time spent retrieving the puck is 100% agreeable, finally get the goalies stamina down with full pressure and the puck decides it wants to go all the way down to your zone, really annoying.

Is this only happening with icon passing? If so, it would be good to get video of this happening.

it's very subtle.  There's a new little movement where they turn their body and looks like they are going to go behind the opponent's center to retrieve the puck.  I'll get more.  Again, it's very subtle.  Perhaps it's just a new movement but it looks weird and unnesccary.  Actually there seems to be a fair mount of odd A.I. movements lately.  Was playing a moment last night, the Stamkos 8 one-timer one.  He was in the slot avoiding ghosts lol.  He was doing weird things, perhaps to get in to position, i don't know. I'll get more vids
