hi Aljo. you had stated many months ago that EA was aware of passing problems. These passing problems still exist, even with 99 attributes. Has any progress been made to make passing more accurate? Since the inception of icon passing, passing has been a serious issue, imo. There should be no issue, except trying to overcome the programming from the game maker with regards to trying to implement bad passing programming, if that makes sense. What i mean is, you can clearly see they are trying to distinguish a 75 overall player from a 99 overall player. There must be differences. So they've tried to program in errors. It is really not working. It leads to a mentally unstable experience as you're getting upset with your TV, and well, that's never good :D
We're aware of the issue with icon passing and not having those icons show up. I don't know about other issues with it though or there being a problem with accuracy in general. I don't recall what passing issue we were talking about int he past. We don't specifically program errors though. A 75 has a bigger margin for error than a 99, but they aren't forced to pass badly. They just aren't going to be as accurate as a 99.
What problems are you having with passing and do you have any video of it?

well, with icon passing you often push a button and it goes to a completely different button. Non-icon passing, since the inception of icon passing, seems to just have horrible errors of the puck not going where you want it to. the amount of hours the community has spent going back to their own zone to retrieve the puck has been quite obnoxious, imo. I thought this was being looked at. i guess not. We'll see how 26 goes.

Thanks for the details. I don't use icon passing so don't have personal experience with it. I believe there's a button that changes when a specific position has the puck. The icons swap in that case. Could that be happening when your icon passes are going to the wrong player?
How frequently are your passes off target with manual passing? Also, what is your pass assist set to? There were previous years where passing back to the point wasn't as accurate as it should be. I believe that was addressed though. Unfortunately, without the controller overlay in replays, we can't tell where the pass was aimed. They might still be good to see though. I'd like to know just how far off target the passes are that you feel is a problem with the game. In my experience, the vast majority of passes are hitting their targets.- fumbler1613 months agoNew Hotshot
It's tough to say just how much. Let's put it this way, it happened so much, early on, that i switched to icon passing as my primary mode of passing, atleast more often then before. It seemed to help for a while, seemed to be more accurate. that feeling is gone now. Yes, the icons do change sometimes and that can lead to a confusing few milliseconds while you sort out, in your brain, which button to use. There are certainly times that I do push the wrong button, i admit that. But there's many times where i don't and it completely goes to a different area of the ice. Heck, sometimes i even benefited from it haha...Where do you recommend pass assist be at? Let's reconvene on this discussion in 26. When i played the playtest the passing seemed to be okay. I only recall 1 pass going awry, but let's see what happens when the new game comes out. You had eluded to lower overall passing meaning a smaller target for them to be successful in, is that how it works? Also, i find the math to be pretty wild. You could have a full stamina player making the pass to a guy that has zero stamina, yet somehow the player with full stamina is effected by the other player. I guess they had to do something. It just leads to a pretty wild experience lol. I hope you play HUT again this year, Aljo. I think it's better when you can relate to us a little better by playing the same mode
