Can’t apply purple XP tokens to upgrade purple xp player

Today I unlocked the goalie kocheykov in HUT    his overall can be upgraded to 88 well I have many upgrade cards, attached be low. The screenshot shows what happens when I go to apply these to the...

I can't use XP collectables OR tokens to upgrade players. I have both and the game keps telling me I don't have them. What's going on here?

Are your tokens red or purple? Red tokens are for season 1 so they can't be used for season 2 players. Purple tokens are for season 2. They look almost the same as the XP collectibles but they say "token" instead of "collectible".
