Can't earn packs?

So many things I'm not liking this year but the biggest one is not earning packs. I'm talking actual packs, not these stupid 1 or 2 player junk packs in the progression. How is anyone supposed to build even a remotely competitive team? You'll never get McDavid without paying for him. Or enough team builders to do anything. It 'll be fine for a week or 2 but after that if You're not pumping money in then you're toast. I'll give it that long, but If I see no hope in competing it'll be back to baseball where you actually earn packs.
