Yeah I would agree with you on the terminology, if the rewards were advertised coming with the version of 26. But these rewards have already been achieved. And to get them. You have to purchase NHL 26. More a ploy to buy than a gift with buying.
I wouldn't say it's a ploy. The objectives are very easy. You only need to open a pack, acquire one or more players from the Draft event and play a few games. It's not like EA wants you to feel like you need to buy 26 because you grinded so much to get the rewards. And the rewards for 26 are a few small packs, so it's also not like EA is giving us huge rewards for 26 so that we would buy it. I also think the rewards are advertised correctly, and I'm not sure why you don't think so. As EA_Aljo said, this kind of content has been requested many times, and EA is incentivizing us to buy 26, but I wouldn't call it a ploy. But I also noticed that you called it a "slight ploy", so it doesn't sound like a big complaint, which I think is a good thing in this case.

Name one year in this franchises history, where an incentive was given in the year previous, only to be obtained the following year. Marketing idea. Incentive. Call it what you may. Why didn't they just add this perk with the purchase of the game, as compared to obtaining it from the year previous. And if it is. Then the objective was a waste of time and effort. The franchise has in years past, rewarded players packs from playing a year previous. Those were not earned in the same way as the aforementioned objective. This is why I stated my query!

Why was it a waste of time? In previous years you got loyalty rewards for playing. This is basically the same thing. You're playing the game and getting rewarded in the next game.
What exactly is your issue here? There's no conspiracy. We're thanking veteran players that continue with us into the next game. You complain when you don't like the rewards. Now there's a reward for very little effort and you claim we're being manipulative. If you think the objective is a waste of time, there's no need to complete it. Besides, didn't you post a goodbye message recently? This wouldn't affect you if you quit playing. - vsfn2202 months agoNew Ace
It has been a few years since the last time it happened, but as EA_Aljo said, it has been done in the past. Yes, you are right that there have been loyalty rewards that haven't been tied to completing objectives, but there have also been objectives like this. And I don't understand why you are still completely ignoring how easy the objectives are. As EA_Aljo said, the objectives are so easy that it is basically the same thing as loyalty rewards.
I agree with most of the complaints that you have posted on this forum, but this is something that I don't understand. I would understand it if we were actually required to grind to get the rewards, but that isn't the case. But don't get me wrong, I'm not taking this as a big complaint compared to some of the other things that you have complained about. I'm just a bit confused as to what your issue is here.
The only small complaint I have about those objectives is the fact that we only have a 2 week window to complete them. And I'm definitely not saying that 2 weeks isn't enough. It is more than enough considering how easy the objectives are. What I mean is that since we get rewards for 26 and we are still at least a couple of months away from 26's release, it would be nice to have more flexibility as to when we can complete the objectives instead of being restricted to a 2 week window in late June / early July. Of course we would then need to be allowed to use the Draft collectibles in sets after the end of the event, but that shouldn't be a problem. I have never understood why all event collectible sets, even the one that gives us the smallest pack, expire at the end of the event. Especially when we can still get collectibles for a few events from moments. Of course I don't know if other events are going to have similar objectives with rewards for 26, but if not, then it would be nice to have more flexibility for the objectives that were released with the Draft event.
And as for the "waste of time" comment, I believe dogheels means that the objectives were a waste of time if we are going to get those packs for buying 26 anyway event if we didn't complete the objectives. But I'm pretty sure that won't be the case.

That's a fair statement. I'll pass it on to the team. Thank you.
