Ideas to make HUT great again like if you agree !

This could be an unpopular opinion, but I feel like Hockey ultimate team has lost its excitement!

one of  main problems I think there is in today’s game is that it just seems like a rat race to collect the same players as everyone else and you feel like you’re just playing against different versions of almost the same team you have due to the constant giveaways of XP players , X factor players etc …

it feels like it’s very robotic and you can just play reckless because everything comes so easy and you can build your team to the point where everyone’s 90+ overall  and the game just becomes about to spend the most in the store or who does the most challenges, etc. I understand there’s a business side to this and obviously you want the store to thrive and make sales but I feel like there’s other ways around this and I’ll post a few of my ideas here.

At the end of the day, I just feel like the mode used to feel like you were building a franchise and you really had to work to build your team and when you did, your team felt so different than most players you played against.

A few ideas I would love to see implemented in the game would be

1-bring back contracts

2- bring back injuries that last so you’re not playing reckless and trying to avoid getting injured.

3- the big one would be implement a salary cap, just like wild card, which is very enjoyable because you actually get to use different players and there’s value in every card, depending how you want to build your team.
It just gets to a point where everyone is looking for the faster and higher rated player. It would be nice to have a salary cap so that you can build your team so many different ways.
It would be great if you can decide how you want to build your team within the salary cup for example you can go two lines of very strong players two top defenseman, and a strong goalie. Or if you like to even it out, you can have a superstar centre man a superstar defenseman, and the rest of the team is very deep lines one through four. This would bring value to players of all ratings and you have to figure out what works for you. With all that said it would not affect store sales because the players of all values could be in those packs and they’re worth something.

I hope something can be done to this extent because currently it just feels like a job to keep up with every challenge just to have the same team as everyone else. Think more of a franchise mode within online hut just like wildcard.!

Hey there. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.

  • Valid comment on this new version being nothing more than a repetitive motion of going nowhere. At least in the 24 version, you at least had a goal to try to attain. Different levels, that would verify your personal improvement. Elite 3 to 1. Top 100. There is no incentive to this ill thought out concept. And you are right when you say, everyone plays for the same reward. The major problem with this franchise is. They don't keep good qualities of the game intact. Rather, they believe change or variation is the way to go. Take the checking part of the game. Originally, it did need a bit of improvement. But they brought in the shoulder check. Now the checking is nothing but a pinball effect, with players bouncing off each other. The developers of this game, could make this a far better franchise, if they took the time to LISTEN to the community. Its the players of this game that knows whats good and bad. Not some programmer who probably never played the game in his life. As for your hope that EA is taking your thoughts into consideration. The chances are the same as Santa actually existing. Good luck bud going forward in this mundane game.
