Need help

Hey,

I'm Sven and from Belgium.

is here any kind soul wanting me to help improve my skills beacuse i'm struggling with the game.

For example, you need to perform 2 toe drag deke shots with any pre-season player but i can't do it.

I've looked at the settings (play with hybrid controls) how to do it,but still i'm not able to do it.

Also i need some help for completing some hut moments.

So if anybody want to co-op with me to complete them, you're very welcome.

Having Parkinson disease isn't really helping to play this game ,it's kind difficult to perform dekes in general because i'm not able to push the L1, L2 , R1 & R2 buttons like it should.

PM/DM me if interested (preferable Europeans due to timezone issues), so you can add me on PSN.

Thanks.

  • hey guys,

thanks again for replies and tips.

i play squad battles & wildcard games always at rookie level.

don't play rivals or any other online mode because i don't have the skills to be competitive there

i can't deke properly (need a lot of time to do one) for example.

with total control settings i've reached the objectives 🤘 but actually i don't know how i did it.🤷
how can you deke with the x, square, triangle & circle buttons while you need to shoot with the right joy stick?
doesn't make sense to me, but now i think i moved my left hand over to the joystick to release the shot.

anyway the objective is reached so thank you all, i appreciate it.

Still if anyone wants to teach me how to play it on higher level then rookie or semi-pro (which i do) you're very welcome.

I still can't complete a lot of hut moments (without any help) and would like to do.

I'm missing out a lot of rewards there.

The move that is done by pressing the X/Square button in the Total Control layout is labeled as "backhand toe drag shot" in the controller settings. The move that is labeled as "toe drag" is done with the right stick.

I was looking at the diagram under Offensive Overview. That is where it says X/Square is toe drag. I didn't look at the Offense Controls 2. Which is where it specifies this is the backhand toe drag.

Oh ok. I didn't realize that. But now that I have seen the diagram, I understand your comment. So there is discrepancy between the diagram and the list of controls. It's only for Total Control though, because for Hybrid and Skill Stick there is no toe drag in the diagram as it isn't a one button move in those layouts. But anyway, I hope you will remove the discrepancy by changing it so that it is labeled consistently in all places, including objectives as well.

I concur with vsfn. The total control backhand toe drag is the easiest and obviously the one intended. I used the skill stick method. And it took awhile before I was able to complete it. I also agree that being more descriptive in intentions, is paramount to the ability to complete.

@vsfn. Very keen observation. You are absolutely correct in your assertion of it requiring a backhand toe drag. Perhaps EA should read your text, and realise that description to objectives is or can be misleading at times, unless properly expressed. Thumbs up on your identifying this error.

I'll get this passed on to the team. Thanks.

  • Hello again,

i just played some rival matches (5 or 6) to see how it goes.

I've got dominated in all of them (no surprise) ,rarely had a chance to have puck possession time.

I only just won 2 of them because one rage quitted and the other one didn't make any effort at the shoot out it seemed.

My team is96 overall,so that's not the issue.

But still i'm wondering how people can play so fast with high accuracy in passing, hits, dekes , poke checks etc...

    Even if i'm pressing the L3 button,it feels like i'm a snail.

I'm losing always the puck on moment of release (passing & shooting).

I can't avoid their checks and it seems like their immuun for mine.

It seems that my players reacting very slow compared to my opponents player

Passing is also an issue, pass when i don't want to pass, pass to the wrong teammate, or don't pass when i want to pass.

When i'm shooting i'm facing the same issue, shoot when i don't need to shoot and don't shoot when i intent to shoot.

Another issue is the moving of the player, sometimes it feels like it does do the opposite of what i'm commanding turn right instead of left,etc....

This happens to me in every mode though, (franchise & be a pro career which i play at pro level)

I've used to play previous NHL games on All star level.

That's so frustrating, i try my best to pass, skate, shoot as fast as i can but apperently i'm slower then the slowest player ever.

    I don't know what i'm doing wrong .

    Tips are very welcome.

Stop playing at rookie level would be one i guess but still there's more then that.
