Is it correct that 91 speed and 89 acceleration is enough to make Fantasy Hockey Sebastian Repo a 98 overall card? I mean those stats feel very low for 98 overall.
For comparison, Fantasy Hockey Jason Zucker has 92 speed and 92 acceleration at 98 overall and Fantasy Hockey Megan Keller has 94 speed and 95 acceleration at 98 overall. I know Repo is a center with 99 faceoffs, but I'm not convinced that the faceoffs stat explains his low speed and acceleration stats compared to other 98 overall cards.
Someone also pointed out on reddit that there were 192 98 overall cards in NHL 24 and all of them had at least 92 speed and 92 acceleration. So it seems very strange to me that Repo only has 91 speed and 89 acceleration at 98 overall.
I would probably not be asking this question at this point if he still had a chance at scoring one more goal and hitting 99 overall, but the regular season is now over in the Finnish league which means that 98 is his final overall.
And if those stats are correct, then I think something should be changed so that players can get some more speed and acceleration upgrades at lower overalls instead of having very low speed and acceleration stats (for example Repo had 87 speed and 85 acceleration at 96 overall) and then getting a huge speed and acceleration upgrade between 98 and 99 overall.
I know it used to be +1 speed and acceleration per overall and now it's +0.5 speed and acceleration per overall. How about +1 speed and acceleration per overall until those stats hit 90 and then after that +0.5 speed and acceleration per overall (until a bigger upgrade is needed for those stats in order to bump up the overall)? Is this something that could be considered for the future games? I think it would make sense.
