What a really disappointing year for the Power Up Icons/Hologram Icons program.

Wayne, Mario, Orr and all others maxed out at 97 OVR. People have full 99 OVR Teams now and all of these Holograms that cost so much to build were left behind. 

They should have all been granted 99 OVR tiers open as of Aug 1.

Appreciate the Hulstrom release 👍

Linus Hultström, 98ovr is with the wrong team.

Since the pre-season in the NL started yesterday, he should actually be with his new team ... EHC Biel-Bienne (Biel plays on Friday)

2003 Mighty Ducks vs New Jersey Devils

The team is completely wrong.

Teemu Selanne was on the Sharks in 2003. He didn't join Anaheim until 2005-06. Same as...

Todd Marchant, who was a member of the Oilers in 2002-03. He played for Columbus for 2 years after and he joined Anaheim in 2005-06.

Niedermayer is on the Ducks even though he played for the OPPOSING TEAM NJ Devils that year. He didnt join Anaheim until 2004-05.

Also, 99 Corey Perry is in the lineup too but he WASN'T EVEN DRAFTED UNTIL THAT SUMMER. 2003 - Rd 1, Pick 28.

Only Carney and Giguere make sense.

If you're going to have someone designing moments based on history you can't get the players wrong. That's literally the only thing you have to do. Otherwise just go back to team vs team challenges.

Weekly HUT Moment #5

"The Devils completed a full CINDERALLA..." What is that?? Someone please tell me what a full cinderalla is.

The expression is CINDERELLA STORY.

In fact, the entire sentence is nonsense.

"The Devils completed a full Cinderalla following a three series win on the road leading to the winning of the first franchise win of the Stanley Cup."

... Leading to the winning of the first franchise win of the Stanley Cup? Surely this can't be written by a human. But even then, I think this is too poorly written to be AI as well.

I didn't even play the moment yet and I'm annoyed by the carelessness and total lack of effort here.

But let's get into that now.

1994-95 New Jersey Devils

Patrik Elias - Drafted in 1994 but did not play for the Devis until 1995-96 where he played 1 game with the big club and most of his time in the AHL.

Dave Andreychuk - Played for the Maple Leafs in 1994-95. Did not join New Jersey until he was traded in 1996.

The rest are okay. But I do have to say that it sucks that Daneyko, a Devils Legend with 1283GP only has an 85 OVR HUT2000 card. And thats the best he gets. I will re-iterate again. The Icon program was not good this year. Not only was it easy to say it was bad. But I could argue it was a total disaster compared to NHL24.
