The X-Factor sets (trade in X-Factor Captains for a Charged X-Factor and get back 2 X-Factor Captains as BND) are an example of BND being used correctly. There are not too many examples of that in the game, but this is one of them. I would definitely not call it a scam. BND has been used in a worse way many times.

The only problem it creates is the inability to use an X-Factor Captain in a TOTY/TOTS discount set. But that problem shouldn't come as a surprise, because the set description says that you get the X-Factor Captains back as BND. And the X-Factor Captain is still a card that can be upgraded to the same overall as the TOTS card. And the upgrades are cheap.

Unless you use the card. Its value afterwards is useless.

Why would you pick an X-Factor player that you don't want to use in your team? And if you don't want to use any of the options and you just pick a player because you have to do so, why would you suddenly want to use that player's TOTS card?

But yes, it is definitely not an ideal situation that you want to build a TOTS card and you have that player's X-Factor card but you still need to either build the TOTS card from scratch or build the X-Factor card again. I hope EA can come up with some kind of a solution for this issue. Maybe there should be another set for the Charged X-Factor so that we would get to choose if we want to get 2 Captains back as BND or only one Captain back but instead of BND it would be UT.
