Why is my team so slow

I have numerous videos of my 99 speed players getting chased down, getting dog walked on defence and getting thrown off the puck from behind.  Why do they do this?  It feels like I am skating in sand while my opponent gets to fly around the ice.  Makes the game impossible to play online.  It feels like my game is broken sometimes.  I can tell when it is happening.  Only occasionally do I get the chance to at least match my opponents speed level.  When I do I can feel the difference in game play.  Why does this happen?

Hi there. Can you post the video of this? Just put it somewhere it can be streamed and respond with a link.

  • Why don't my computer controlled players forecheck? I run a 2-3 but no one goes after the puck carrier?

Its a broadband issue. Or high latency(ping) which causes the problem. It also has to do with traffic in your area as compared with some one else, who may be in a relatively low traffic area regarding bandwidth. Its a problem that this game has endured for years now. Its like your playing on 60 watt Power as compared to others on 120 watt. Bad analogy. But I'm sure you get my drift. Also. If your home is running a variety of Web devices. It will slow down your input/ output strength.  Check your service provider to make sure you are getting the proper bandwidth. Which is measured in upper and lower frequency. Then theres the fibe vs cable issue. Cable tends to be slower in a high traffic area. The term you are experiencing is LAG. Your signal at times is not equal to your opponents, which is caused by what i have mentioned.

You're not taking control of your defenders. AI D can be easy to get past. I recommend switching to your defense and controlling them. You also should set your strategies to be more aggressive. Use the High Pressure setting.

Then why do i get caught so quickly when I have the puck?  I can't get an angle on a defender and beat him to open ice,  I skate straight but they have to skate on an diagonal to catch me but still catxh up.  My player without a puck back checking in a straight line should be faster than my opponent who receives a 3% speed nerf for carrying the puck without gold wheels.   I can't catch them...... my game is very LAGGY.  My connection speeds are 900 download and 50 upload.  Is this a factor? I would think the CPU players wouldn't be effected by lag but they are.  It seems my whole team is penalized for a bad connection to your servers.  Please unbreak my game.  Sometimes it feels really smooth and great others it feels like I am skating in sand

If you're talking about what happens at the :50 mark, they were hustling in a straight line while you turned and then started going straight. This gives them time to catch up.

At 1:04, the defender skates at an angle to close the gap quicker.

We're not aware of any issues with the servers and your game doesn't look laggy. However, you can try the troubleshooting steps here to see if they help.

  • Gaming speeds to be competitive should range between 50-100 Mbps download. And 10 Mbps upload. Having a low latency # (ping) should be below 50ms. Obviously your Internet speed is not an issue, from the #s you have laid out. However. You did not mention ping. Latency is the time it takes regarding data to travel from your server and back. The lower the ping, the more responsiveness you achieve. Which reduces lag. Or slow play in the game to be more precise. Check your service provider to do a latency test.
