@MalouRiess Thanks for your help! Unfortunately, that's one of the many things I have already tried. :/

And you are sure that these are exactly these file versions you have installed since I have the same challenges as you and was only solved when these versions were installed...? @MalouRiessJust to check again, I sifted through my System32 folder and deleted some .dll files. Then I downloaded the files you mentioned again and chose to repair them because they already existed on here. After the reboot, they actually - wonder of wonders! - worked!!!!!! The download ACTUALLY WORKED! If my neighbors didn't have kids, I would've been loudly celebrating!! Now I just have 3+ hours to download the game. :D That'll happen overnight.
Thanks for helping in the persistence!
- @jchrist_loves_me How you fix problem. I have this problem?

@jchrist_loves_meHow you fix problem. I have this problem? The second post in the thread by @MalouRiess has the fix that worked for me to get Origin to install. Did you have an error before the 0xc000007b? Or is that the only one?
@jchrist_loves_me Before the problem 0xc000007b I had a problem that I did not have the files vcruntime140.dll and msvcp120.dll I inserted this into syswow64 and then the error 0xc000007b started. I installed all visual c ++ 64x and 86x. My windows is 64bit.

I was missing msvcp140.dll and vcruntime140.dll before the 0xc0000p7b, too. By trying to fix those first, I think I ended up with too many versions of the same .dll files and they added their own extra extensions. Maybe try browsing your System32 and Syswow64 files, delete extras or even the ones you inserted, reinstall or repair the Visual C + + files, reboot, and try again?
Even after I got Origin to install, The Sims 4 wouldn't. Because my VC++ files were too new - I had to go in and uninstall the updated ones and reinstall the ones that were part of the download for the game.
- @jchrist_loves_me How did you do this. Where do I go to clear out the system folder like you did?
@jchrist_loves_me, HUGE thanks for starting this thread and respect to you for such persistence!
My daughter and I salute you as we have been on the same journey and have finally reached the promised land thanks to you and the responses on this thread - big thanks to Malou, Fikyyyy & @EA_Darko as well, of course.
We ended up with the 0xc000007b problem because we manually downloaded the msvcp140.dll file (and the vcruntime140.dll) files and saved them into syswow64 which was recommended on another thread. This was a bad move: once we deleted msvcp from syswow64 and then repaired C++ using the last link from EA_Darko, the origin installation worked.
Incidentally, we ended up in this sorry mess because 3 months ago Sims IV stopped working due to the dreaded 'endless Origin Update' issue. The lockdown gave me the time to try everything to fix that including uninstalling and reinstalling Origin.
Almost brings a nostalgic tear to my eye, back in the day we used to have the same issues with PC gaming on our x86 machines.
thanks man..you saved my life
I am also having the same problem. I have tried everything and nothing is working. I cant even get origin to download. Very irritating especially being in quarantine, please message me if you get it to work and what you did!!
Forget my last message. Origin just loaded and is installing all my games. I sure hope it wont play tricks on me! Thank you for everyone's instructions!
which files did you delete? like you I tried everything...
- @DweebCartoons OMG Thank you! Apperently i have made the same mistake! we have to flag that forumpost somehow.
@DweebCartoonsHey, which files did you download to fix the C++ files? There are so many links on the Microsoft website and I have no idea which one I should use.
EDIT:
HOLY FREAKIN COW IT WORKED! I have lost all my hopes I truly didn't think it would work but it somehow did! Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread!
For anyone wondering what I did:
I deleted the msvcp140.dll file I had downloaded prior to seeing this thread. Then I installed 2 files from the link to the Microsoft website that EA_Darko has posted. I have 64x bit Windows and I used both vc_redist.x86.exe and vc_redist.x64.exe. 🙂I f***ing love you right now.
It was starting to make me go nuts.
I had also tried all the steps before without succes, but this solved my problem.
- @jchrist_loves_me This works!! thank you so much!
@DweebCartoons @EA_Darko o here I am doubting this would work but omg thank you!!! i was like "why didnt you delete the other file" but then i went "mmokay lets give it a try" AND IT WORKED OMG IM SO HAPPY!
THAT SAVED MY DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
OVER 6 HOURS SPEND ON F***KING REINSTALLING EVERYTHING AND FINALLY DONE.
You have to follow the right order - THAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING!! (!!)
You got to delete msvcp140.dll AND vcruntime140.dll files from the syswpw64 AND THEN repair C++ using the links from EA_Darko.
I dd these things maaaany times but in messed order.... FOR EXAMPLE- I repaired the C++, then deleted .dll files and tried run origin without any result... The right order is the key. You got to delete .dll files from syswow64 and then repair C++ and finally origin will run.
Amazing, thanks for starting thread and all comment which guided me to this solution.
You guys are best.
Hope all future users can see this thread and will follow!
