Re: sims 4 "download in queue"

Hey @emgwaceand @TorvillDeanFan sorry to see that you are having issues with your game.

Can you please try the following steps and let me know how you get on.

  1. Try re-installing Origin:
    1. Close the Origin client.
    2. Open the Control Panel (find it by searching “Control Panel” in the Start menu).
    3. Click on Uninstall a program under Programs.
    4. Click on Originand uninstall.
    5. Reinstall Origin, then try installing your game again.

Try running Origin as an administrator:

  1. Close the Origin client.
  2. Right-click the Origin client icon on your desktop (or in the Origin directory if not on your desktop) and click Run As Administrator.

This runs the Origin client as an administrator account, and should let the game  install.

Try lowering the User Access Control settings:

  1. Close the Origin client.
  2. Click the Windowsbutton and type "UAC" in the search field.
  3. In the User Access Control window, click and hold the slide bar —slide it to the lowest setting available.
  4. Click Okat the bottom of the window.
  5. Open the Origin client and try installing again (click Installon the game you want).

Hey @emgwace, sorry about that. It is always worth stating that you are on a Mac as generally, we will start with PC troubleshooting steps.

Can you ensure that you have admin rights set for your profile.

I would also suggest resetting Origin on your Mac using the steps here: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/

    • Download the Reset Origin tool.
    • Open a Finder window and navigate to your Downloads folder.
    • Find ResetOrigin.zip and double-click it. Finder will expand the full file.
    • Double-click the ResetOrigin file in the expanded window. You'll get a dialog box
    • Click the Reset Origin button. You’ll be asked to give approval with your Administrator password.

    1. Enter your password and click OK to start the reset.
    2. When the reset is done, you’ll get a confirmation message that your Origin preferences and cache files have been removed.
    3. Click OK to exit the tool.
    4. Download the latest version of Origin for Mac and install it.

Let me know how you get on.
