Play with Friends PvZGw1

I've been looking into how to invite friends in Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 1 since yesterday and sadly was not able to find a solution myseft. Before in the Origin Client, which is now discontinued I was able to use the overlay to invite friends to an allready existing multiplayer lobby. Now in the EA Client, when I navigate either the normal destop app or the overlay, there is no such option being displayed. In game theres also no Party or Invite system hence why im asking.

I found this post for reference in which a similar Issue occured in Titanfall 2. The conclusion was that the feature wasn't added yet, but its 2 years old so I figured that the mistake should be on my Part, due to it being such a basic function.
