I love the beach, it’s where I grew up. So I’m very aware of the economic variability of different zones along the coast. My entire coastline is configured to decrease in property value as it moves from left to right on the map.
So at the uber-wealthy tourist left-end coast, is my Springfield Heights Beach, Promenade, Casino Pier, and Yacht Club. The largest beach resorts and beachfront condos are here.
The ridgeline that separates SH from SF begins a wealthy residential section including several large beach resorts and mansions. My design's intent is that the large white building is oldest, and was the first resort on the coast. The modern, offshore resort is designed to support a "rumor that its construction was funded with pirate treasure discovered in a nearby cove!" :D For fun, I've made this image into a "Resort Brochure" that describes all the different rooms available to guests! Book your vacations today!
The middle zone of my coastline is designed like many Florida and NJ coastal "tourist traps"; with plenty of themed restaurants and attractions to lure vacationing families. I've attempted to make a 3-D mini-golf mountain and arcade complex here. My Squidport is designed like the boardwalk and amusement piers where i grew up on the Jersey Shore, so there's restaurants, arcades, carnival rides, a fishing pier, and outdoor concert spaces. The "over 21" section is in the far left, with daycare services available too. Plenty of hotels and beachfront condos, which are arranged with quality declining as you travel toward the right-end of the coast. The sketchier bars and clubs are at the farthest right end, and beyond that it turns industrial (unpictured)
(creating this mosaic pic in MSPaint was very hard; it's about 29mb which is huge and kept crashing my program LOL)
My littlest beach area is at the "lake" between Fort Sensible and Camp Krusty. It’s meant to resemble the typical horror movie-style scene; so watch out for any crazies who may have escaped from the nearby minimum security prison or SF Asylum (unpictured)!
I think that guy on the roof has a knife! Yikes!
