OP you've invested a lot of space in those backyards! I don't see anything wrong with trees. Throw in some other foliage and also remember with all that space you can use those backyards as places for the various things we've won throughout the game- like statues and other things that are hard to place.

So I seriously need advice. What have you put into the backyards of your houses? Cause I son't want to just put trees, that's kinda lame. I have no idea what else to put there.

Definitely trees. That's the point of having a backyard. Water is good, too.

I recently did some work on my town focusing on the back yards of homes, as I noticed a friend had done this, and mine looked bare.
I took it one yard at a time, and tried not to overdo any yard. I spaced the items out (for example, homes next to each other would not have the same items as their neighbor).
I used these sporadically, blended with trees:
    Swing
    See Saw
    Tube slide
    Lawn chairs
    Easter pond
I even used the Olmec head (slid it close to the back of the house, so you can only see the top, as if it were a round hot tub with its cover on)
    Bench
    Flower garden with a centerpiece
    Patio table

When using trees (anywhere), blending is key. Mix it up as much as possible.
Hope this helps get your creativity flowing.
  • You can make an outdoor patio with pavement the bistro tables and some potted trees and planters/flowers too...

That sounds awesome. Please can somebody post a picture of this?

Barririddle: thanks. That's a great way to finally get use of my olmec head.

    Mopuglar: thanks! Great ideas there!

Bee: thanks! I'll be sure to check those out

  • This is what I was talking about, found it while out raiding. Instead of the shrubs you could use planters, flowers or potted trees....
