Actually one of my "secrets" to looking more natural is to rotate every other tree placed so they don't look like identical computer printed patterns. Same with the flowers, always give them a rotate when next to each other. :wink:
i am obsessive about rotating trees and bushes haha, when i have 2 trees next to each other and facing the same way i can't help but see it as a copy/paste
another thing i really like for a more natural look is having only half of a bush visible, partially behind a tree or building. just a bit poking around the corner, it helps me get more variety since were limited to just a few kinds of shrubbery
