Wait! So where is the Badlands?

I thought there was going to be an area for it, similar to Springfield Heights. I don't like how you have to build it from scratch, I was expecting a desert area specifically designed for the Badlands. I guess now I have to rethink my building ideas, cause I was getting prepared for an already made desert. :?
