When you say "gingerbread house" do you mean the house that came with Suzanne the Witch a few years ago? That has nothing to do with the gingerbread mansion, sorry.
The gingerbread mansion was triggered for free after completing the upgrade of the snowman in Act 1 of this event. After getting the snowman to its top level, Homer had a one-hour task to "admire his creation" and then Ned triggered the (free) "humble gingerbread house" ... Then you had to upgrade that three (?) levels ... And at its top level, it is called the Gingerbread Mansion". It wasnt a crafting item. It was the same process as upgrading the zoo and the reindeer truck. But only available during Act 1.

Thanks for the info. I completed the snowman, but do not remember this prompt. I was constantly sending characters on tasks. I must have missed out on one of those prompts. That sucks, oh well.
