Unfortunately not! :-\

As soon as you have all 3 castles around level 6-7 you will be able to collect 45 nerds every 2 hours, that's a good number.

As Neuroheart said, by attacking neighbours in the hope they don't defend and your nerds pillage, or by defending your town.
