Are we gonna have to downsize?

Although I have a full map ill cut back on houses first to make room for new buildings. Then I'd reshuffle the shops e.g make the closer. And the major building like burns mansion id keep as you've made it. At sum point we will run out of space unless they add more land. Which u can see they have just need to open it up more

I'm level 27, and have like 2/3 of the land. Coming from someone that did not farm, had no visiting friends for months, nor had premium items for a while. I know my case is very different, but I feel I still can enjoy saving up for land. I think when you rush and get everything, that's where the game is no longer enjoyable. If I had all the land, I likely would have built out and been in the same ship. I can be thankful there's still plenty of land to acquire, and even a few more buildings (don't have the Popsicle stick tower or the 50 foot magnifying glass).

Been playing since May, got my first friends right before Halloween, and hit the max level (at the time) at Christmas. Super slow pace I know.

    I didn't farm.

    I didn't rush.

I actually played super slow and reached the max level way before I finished the buildings. I wanted to decorate and design before getting buildings, it's why I got all the land and leveled up so quickly. Decorations give you tons of XPs.

I've just now finished the Lenny/Carl tasks. My son plays even slower, he's still not done with them!

Just because people have all the land doesn't mean they sped things up or rushed, I just liked the design aesthetics aspects of this game and wanted to do that over the completing of tasks.

But how do you have all the land then? I know the decor add XP, but they also subtract cash. So not sure how you have all the land, yet I do not. I've bought land when and where I needed to, then after Christmas I was stocking up the land as they didn't have those expensive buildings.

Basically I had to several points where I had to wait to have the cash to buy the new building, then it was extended if I needed a plot of land for it. My town is still quite basic, and has recently had some much needed makeovers with decor.

My town was making over 100K a day at one point when I was pushing hard the character tasks. I focused on buying the land before the buildings. Then once I had the land, I started decorating. Didn't get a building unless I had already designed where it would go.

My town is very planned out, nothing random about it.

@LaSpangle - I completely agree. I grew up out in the country and I like having tons of space with pretty decorations in my town. I like creating parks and grand estates. It eats up all my land! LOL
  • What I am most concerned about is the RAM usage this game takes up. Currently I have a pretty substantial town going. I am up to the quests leading up to channel 6 building and have a good amount a premiums. I'm a sucker for the damn things. I also have a decent amount of decorations, trees and shrubs. I wouldn't say it it's an inordinate amount but I am already experiencing slow down and crashes because I must have too much in my town. I fear what this massive update might mean!

So do you not have the Escalator to Nowhere, 50 foot magnifying glass and Popsicle stick tower?

I'm at about 70-90k a day I think. Right now, I'm saving for the update to see if cash is needed. Then was going to start with more land. I also will be buying donuts in next few days (making sure no deals start Thursday), and finally get the rest of the available characters (Bumble Bee Man, Hans, Otto and I think there's 1 other).
  • Logistics_Eng is planning on downsizing the town, furloughing the people and making room for progress as part of his stimulation package! It will be a sad day in Springfield :(
Stayed tuned to Channel 6 at Six with Kent Brockman because "I make the news"
  • No need to down size as they are going to expand the land I know they're opening up the water side with those boardwalk buildings so they might be opening up the land that's my take on what I've seen with the raw data.

I think this might be more of a device issue than a game issue. I have all the land, every building, every character, and loads and loads of premiums(20 each of cop cars, ambulances, news vans, etc...) and my game has not crashed since the Christmas update ended. I also have a ridiculous amount of decorations, like flowers and trees everywhere. Although, I have been told that sometimes visiting my town causes a friends game to crash, mine never crashes (knock on wood).
