Yup - apart from the stupid levelling up on the crafting. I didn't think it was possible to make crafting worse, but, hats off to EA, they have managed it. Overall though, I can overlook that, as I'm getting lots of crafting currency. All in all, a great event IMHO :D
The crafting idea is terrible...I barely made the end of Act one (no boughnuts and didn't complete Monorail until Sunday)
I dislike grinding events. Give me the newer mini events.
I'm pretty sure the whole 'leveling' of crafting and limiting the craftables & resources is in fact to allow players to take a step away from the simple regular grinding.
By injecting a simplistic resource management function via the levels and constraints, players can actually strategize a bit, plan how much they want to 'grind' for resources, how much of any given resource to spend at any given time, and how much to save. Choose to spend all your lucky horseshoe key rings on Walk of Fame Stars? Or save them all up in order to unlock the higher crafting levels quicker so you can apply all your precious resources to something more desirable. See how that works?
Me, I spend my resources as soon as an item is available in order to acquire club cards faster. I'm on target (per the event calendar found in the guide/walkthrough) to finish this event with all non-premium prizes. I don't sweat the premium stuff.
All in all, I'm really enjoying this event.
